I was in pain! I didn't expect Doc to be in today. I went in to schedule a acute appt. In hopes I could return in few days. DOC was in! He had a cancelation! A BLESSING 🙌 He had to drain & do an injection. I ❤️ Dr.Infante! His bed side manner rocks! He's funny! And...as gentle as he can be considering the circumstance. 1st time having my knee drained. Although I only saw Dr. Infante in passing in the hallway, his staff, especially PA Katherine “Jenny” Derrick were exceptional. The nurse took preliminary information and then the PA did a physical examination that resulted in removal of fluid from the joint and injection of cortisone which immediately relieved my pain and allowed the joint to function correctly all while being friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and understanding of the background information I provided. Orthopedic Institute of Florida even though a long trek from Ruskin was well worth the visit and allowed me to know my condition was thoroughly explained and the path ahead was one I well agreed to and relieved to know it’s okay to be 74 and a lifetime Polio and one in need of immediate treatment !?? Thank you again Dr Creighton Dr Creighton knew that the Rotator Cuff right side pain was intensifying and gave me a Cortisone Shot. I had had one before in my right foot and it didnt work,so I wondered how fast the pain would subside! He's an excellent Surgeon and the injection worked incredibly fast and I came home and slept all night without any pain whatsoever! He allowed me as an almost 74 year old to cry and to realize I had finally found the right Orthopedic Clinic to work with me on deteriorating muscles! Again thank you Dr Creighton and your offer to allow the other specialized Surgeon to see me in Mid May! The extra X Rays were well worth going through at Orthopedic Institute and the results were told to me in a manner that I could understand! He did surgery on my husband hand and did an excellent job, he had dupuytrens contracture and his was quite severe the surgery was successful and he’s doing so much better. our office wait time to see him is less than 10 min. He takes time and explains what’s going on. Very friendly. I would recommend him highly. He had visiting nurses come to do his dressing changes 2 times weekly for the first 2 weeks because we are so far from his offices.Very caring for his patients. And his team is also very good. My husband had foot surgery scheduled for Jan 16th, on January 15th we were on our way to Tampa and received a call from the surgeon telling us my husband needed an Mri before surgery because they saw something on the CT they needed clarification on. This was 3:10 in the afternoon. We were stuck in heavy traffic on I4 and knew it was going to be tight. We received a call from Jessica telling us not to worry that she would wait for us. My wife had EXTREME pain in the lower back. She gave it a "10" Admitted to three different hospitals starting in Michigan, then Myrtle Beach, S.C. and finally Sun City Center, Fla. Not one could alleviate her pain. Only lessen it. Visited Fla Ortho in Sun City Center. Dr. Shaan Mehta. He administered Lidocaine in the muscles surrounding the sciatica nerve in the hip area. Painless shoulder surgery. Yes painless, and there was plenty of damage to be fixed. 3x more damage than was seen on the MRI. This was my first follow up and I am cleared to resume life after 4 months of recovery. I am relatively young in the realm of joint replacements. I'm 49 but I have had chronic knee issues for 15 to 20 years. I have seen three orthopedic surgeons in Florida in the past 8 years every one of them had said yes you have severe osteoarthritis there's nothing we can do You're too young there's nothing to be done and just give me pain meds and send me on my way. My pain management doctor referred me to Dr Flanagan and he is amazing. He got right down to business he got me approved to have bilateral gel injections I did a three course series of those. Found significant improvement in my left leg however my right leg was already bone on bone and it didn't really do much. I have been a patient in the Florida Orthopedic Institute physical therapy since October 2021 at the Sun City location. I walked in on crutches unable to do any leg exercise and left two months later with more mobility and the ability to walk several times a week. My most amazing team was Don Reynolds and Jennifer Luna. They were professional, brilliant, positive and pushed me to reach my goals. They did all this with a sense of humor and following all safety covid protocols. I consider them to walk on water and they will get any patient undergoing challenges their best chance at recovery following their guidance and direction. The therapists at Florida Orthopedic know what they are doing. Each time I leave after my PT I am filled with optimism that the end is in site and I will be able to hike, take long walks and ride my bike again, without pain. Plus the atmosphere at the clinic is very upbeat and friendly. First of all, their attention to safety pertaining to the COVID-19 virus is wonderful. They spray and wipe down every surface as soon as the equipment is finished being used. I fell on August 31st and fractured my calcaneus,talas and my fibula. I was rushed to South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center Florida. For 3 days I was mostly NPO waiting for surgery. Because of the complexity of my injury, if it wasn't for Doctor Infante agreeing to do my surgery I don't know what would have happened. My care has been so rewarding, all his staff has been so kind and knowledgeable in helping me. I started physical therapy two weeks ago at Select Therapy, was not able to go to Florida orthopedic for my therapy because of my insurance. After 9 weeks I given the okay today to finally be able to put weights on my left leg and foot. I know, I have to be patient I have a long road ahead of me, but doctor Infante said today he know I can do it, he helped me walk in his office. I feel he is a Dr. that cares about his patients. There is not enough space for me to write just how wonderful I think my experience has been at Florida Orthopaedic Institute!! When I first began I had excruciating pain in my left shoulder. I was incapable of using that arm due to a bad fall and was referred to FOI for PT. They were kind, caring, professional, and always encouraged me. Forever giving me hope that in time, and with some work, I could regain use of my arm. After 4 months, I had my life back again. I was able to have full use of my arm without any pain. The physical therapists, Dr. Echols, his assistant, the nurses, all genuinely care about your process and want you to be fully recovered. They are just as excited as you when you reach your goals. I had Rotator cuff repair surgery in August 2019.The Florida Orthopaedic Institute is the place to have any Orthopaedic procedures done. They have several locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. They even have their own surgery center. For my Rotator cuff surgery I used the Sun City Center office. The office has its own imaging, so there is no need to have xrays done in another facility. My procedure was explained to me in simple terms. The doctors make sure that you have a full understanding of the procedure. Following the surgery I needed physical therapy. FOI has a PT department attached to their orthopaedic office in Sun City Center. Making appointments for PT is easy. There is a policy that a patient shall not wait more than 5 minutes to be treated in the PT department. I must say they do keep this promise. I have been in PT for approx 4 weeks, and my recovery is going just great with the help from the PT staff. The entire staff at Florida Orthopaedic Institute have great customer service attitude.
