During the Stanley cup series, Bishop finally came clean after last night’s final game. He said he’s been playing with a torn groin all this time. A torn groin can result in putting too much stress on the muscles in your groin or thigh, and if those muscles are being used too forcefully or suddenly they can get overstretched or torn. Now, this kind of injury is common among athletes, especially among hockey players and what’s more torn groin. They’re usually very painful, which would explain why Ben Bishop had such a tough time during the Stanley cup. It means ice to reduce pain and swelling, compressing the injured muscle with a bandage or tape and taking anti-inflammatory painkillers.
