About Dr. Linnell

Dr. Joshua Linnell was born and raised in the Midwest. As a true Jayhawk at heart, he received his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas while performing biomedical research at the Stowers Institute in Kansas City. He obtained a medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Linnell completed his residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He then completed a Hand, Upper Extremity, and Microsurgery Fellowship with the Orthopedics Department at Baylor University in Houston, TX.

Dr. Linnell is board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has the Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.

Dr. Linnell specializes in treating all conditions affecting the hands and wrists up to the elbow. His special interests include providing care for fractures, arthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, peripheral nerve diseases and injuries, tumors, and Dupuytren’s disease, as well as soft tissue repair and wound reconstruction in all parts of the body.

He is a member of numerous organizations including the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Mid-Central States Orthopaedic Society.

Dr. Linnell cares for patients of all ages and enjoys treating the pediatric population. Uniquely in the specialty of hand surgery, the patient plays a vital role in their recovery and overall outcome. This aspect is why Dr. Linnell takes particular care with informing the patient and providing access to up-to-date research and therapy options. Working together with other specialists, he will provide you with an integrated approach to relieving pain and improving function.

In his spare time, Dr. Linnell enjoys spending time with his wife and two wonderful boys. The family enjoys the Florida baseball experience. Taking care of his own health is important, and he enjoys the competition of marathon running.
