About Dr. Deen

Dr. Justin Travis Deen is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and fellowship trained in lower extremity adult reconstruction. He treats a wide range of hip and knee conditions, focusing on joint replacement surgery, including partial knee, total knee, and total hip replacement. He is dedicated to providing a wide range of services and techniques to enhance patient recovery, including minimally invasive/muscle-sparing, outpatient, opioid-free, and technology-assisted surgery. He also provides care for patients needing complex hip and knee replacement or revision surgery for failed replacements.  

Originally from Orlando, Florida, Dr. Deen completed his undergraduate education at the University of Florida. He then earned his medical degree from Florida State University, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society and Arnold P. Gold Humanism in Medicine Society. He obtained his residency training in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Florida, nominated by his peers to serve as both Chief resident and Resident Leader of the American Orthopaedic Association. He remained at the University of Florida to complete his adult arthroplasty/reconstructive surgery fellowship.  

Dr. Deen’s commitment to advancing the field of orthopaedics is unwavering. His tenure as Associate Professor at the University of Florida and now the University of South Florida College of Medicine has been marked by several quality and teaching awards. He is a respected leader in the field, holding membership and leadership positions in the Florida Orthopaedic Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Association, and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His contributions to numerous publications and his role on the editorial board for the Journal of Arthroplasty inspire confidence in his expertise.  

Dr. Deen’s patient-centered approach is at the core of his practice. He prioritizes engaging and empowering patients to achieve their best outcomes, valuing their individual concerns and goals, and considering them essential care team members. With a wealth of experience and a passion for personalized patient care, he is dedicated to improving lives one joint at a time. 

Beyond his professional commitments, Dr. Deen is a family man who cherishes spending quality time with his loved ones. He keeps himself active through outdoor activities, particularly running and golf, which he finds rejuvenating.
