About Dr. Mehta
Dr. Mehta is a dual fellowship trained physician with specialization in both interventional pain management and non-operative sports medicine. He is board eligible in pain management through the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and maintains double board certification in Sports Medicine and Family Medicine. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan. He received his undergraduate degree at Youngstown State University and his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of South Florida, where he was awarded top resident in his class
He then completed a sports medicine and non-operative orthopedics fellowship at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where he regularly worked with Division 1 collegiate athletes, as well as professional athletes. Following this, he completed an additional fellowship in interventional pain management at the Deuk Spine Institute in Orlando, Florida, where he performed over 2,000 spine and peripheral joint injections.
Dr. Mehta cares for all pain conditions of the body, and his special interests include regenerative medicine techniques, degenerative spine conditions, and ultrasound-guided peripheral joint/tendon procedures. His focus is primarily on nonsurgical approaches to improve patient function and mobility.
Dr. Mehta’s formal training in sports medicine and interventional pain management gives him a unique perspective. He seeks to understand the biomechanical disorders and physical changes that have led to acute and chronic pain patterns. Ultimately, Dr. Mehta’s approach to patient care relies on how he can improve patient quality of life through goal-oriented treatment plans and multidisciplinary care.
He is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Over the years, he has been selected to present medical case reports and research at national and state-level conferences. He is also a member of the Spine Intervention Society.
Dr. Mehta enjoys traveling the world and spending time with his family.
