For three years I barely walked. I went to, I had three surgeries on my, the same hip. First, it was repaired, then it was replaced. I had broken my hip in the kitchen, and doctor I was going to told me that I might lose my leg if they tried to do another surgery. I really thought that my life was over because I was just constantly in pain.

Maria had two different problems when she came to see me. She had a painful hip with very poor motion because the bone had healed in the wrong position. On top of that, she had broken her arm, had that treated surgically, and had a nonunion of the hardware. So the plates and screws had broken and pulled out. So she had a painful arm that remained broken despite surgery.

He did a seven-hour surgery, I think it was seven hours, I’m not sure. But I had the humerus repaired and my hip replaced again. Ever since then I’ve been able to use my arm so I, I’m back to normal. Everybody that knows me. All my friends at the Y and all the places that I go to, they see me. They say, you are really a walking miracle. I’m cooking again, and I’m sure my husband loves that I have no pain anymore. It’s just a blessing. I would recommend that to anyone. He gave me back my life.
