Doctor Profile: Jason A. Nydick, DO

Hi, I’m Dr. Jason Nydick. I work here at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. I’m a hand and upper extremity surgeon. I treat various disorders including a shoulder, elbow, hand and wrist, all ages from young kids to elderly patients. And my specialty, we see patients with chronic pain from arthritis to everything from a straight forward nerve, fresh and tendon issues to severe trauma. So it’s nice seeing patients you, you meet them and then you get to take care of him later throughout life. You know, I was active duty Navy for four years in Pensacola where I was stationed and had the opportunity to deploy to Afghanistan. For four years. And now after my Navy service, I had the opportunity to go to many places in the country and I chose to come back to Florida Orthopaedic Institute and the Tampa Bay area. And coming back home where my family is, is probably the number one reason in choosing repair. Seeing complex, traumatic injuries and in war can only help us treat patients back home due to the car accident or other work industrial type accident. Most of what we do is educating patients, treating patients without surgery. Now, there are times where everything has failed to provide pain relief or return to function. That’s when surgical options are best and can really help patients.
