Dr. Sanders: My name is Roy Sanders and I’m the managing partner at Florida Orthopaedic Institute and I’m also an orthopedic traumatologist and foot and ankle surgeon. For me, my patients mean everything to me. That’s why I’m a surgeon. That’s why I went into this profession because I want to help people and it’s very, very satisfying to be able to help with orthopedic trauma. We, for example, I run the level one trauma center, Tampa General Hospital in orthopedics. And these patients oftentimes come from car accidents, fall from roofs if they’re construction workers. We try all sorts of techniques to get them pain-free and back to work and sports. I just want them to get better. It, it’s relaxed. I run, I run marathons, half-marathons, I lift, I kayak, so I understand their need to get back to a normal lifestyle. And the trust that you build with them initially just lasts throughout the whole relationship. And so if I’m able to return them back to full function is the most satisfying thing. I mean, that’s why we’ve become, that’s why I became a doctor. I wanted to help people. And it’s very gratifying to be able to do that and actually see that it works.
