Dr. Parvataneni: My name is Hari Parvataneni. I’m an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. I’m an arthroplasty surgeon, which means I provide surgical care for hip and knee arthritis. I do hip replacements, knee replacements, partial knee replacements, and I utilize technology such as robotics, I use muscle sparing and minimally invasive techniques, and some of the more exciting evolving areas in Arthroplasty care, such as optimized pain management, enhanced recovery after surgery, including outpatient surgery are some of the things I’ve pioneered and also offer in my practice. The way I approach patients who come to see me is that I treat it as a partnership, and so we are both partners in their decision making as well as their treatment plan.

The best part of my work is to see the outcomes my patients enjoy. So you’ll see patients who come in who are very limited by their arthritis, who are not very mobile, they’re not able to remain active socially, and then you go through joint replacement surgery and almost immediately they feel better without pain. But as we follow them over years, we’ll see them getting back to activities and we see them enjoying a more vibrant lifestyle. We see patients who improve their health from being active, and I get patients all the time who send pictures of themselves skiing or dancing at their children’s wedding or traveling. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing patients enjoying active lifestyles because of something that we could offer them.

What sets Florida Orthopaedic Institute apart from other practices is that it’s physician run, and so it allows us to provide care at the highest level, and it reflects in the outcomes, the patient experience, and the people who work at FOI.
