From the time of surgery, when I first started to come to physical therapy, I could barely lift my arm up. From then on, things started to progress. It wouldn’t have been the same had I not gone through the intense therapy that they provided here.
we see patients that are seen by doctors here at the Florida Orthopaedic Institute. Everything from shoulder problems, knee problems, hip. A lot of our patients have had total joint replacements and we try to get them to a place where they can return to the activities that they enjoy. We use our hands a lot to do manual therapy. We use modality such as electrical STEM, cold packs, heat. And then we have specific exercises that we use, uh, to stretch muscles that need lengthening. We’ll take them from where they’re not able to use, say the arm or the hip or the knee very well at all to a place where they’re functioning on well on their own.
I love what I do. I love helping people and you know, watching the smile on their face when they get better. I’m in better shape today than I was before the accident. And so I, I can’t thank them enough for getting back onto that routine and really getting my life back.
